What’s Happening at PHS?
Greetings as we have rolled into February and the second semester. This year has flown by as we are about to embark on our spring sports season. There has been a lot going on at school and our students have achieved some great things.
First of all, our February Student of the Month is senior,
Brandt Sitze. Brandt is the son of Gary and Shelley Sitze.
He has one sister, Kaitlyn.
Brandt currently ranks 5th in his class with a G.P.A. of 4.20.

Brandt’s extra-curricular activities include; Fellowship of Christian Athletes, band, and National Honor Society,
in which he serves as vice president.
Brandt has earned many honors in his four years at Pawnee High School. One of his many honors is earning the Merit Award at the Illinois District Fine Arts contest the last three years. He has also participated in the IMEA music competition and has earned first place in the solo and ensemble competition.
Brandt’s future plans are to attend a Milliken University and earn a degree in commercial music. In his free time he enjoys practicing drums and participating in youth group. He states the best part of being a student at Pawnee High School is that everybody knows each other. Congratulations Brandt.
Congratulations to Jake Walters as he won the regional championship, finished second at sectionals and represented the Auburn wrestling team at the state tournament. Jake did not place at state but had an outstanding senior season.

Recently, we have had two athletes make decisions regarding their athletic futures. Dalton Doefler plans on attending Benedictine University in Springfield and play baseball and Ryan Bailey will attend Lincoln Land Community College and play baseball. Congratulations to both boys and to Coach Hennemann.

A couple of weeks ago, we held our Winter Carnival.
The kid’s behavior was excellent.

Lastly, our WYSE team competed in the regional tournament. Our team finished third but we did have two individuals advance to sectionals. Sara Rothe received a first in math and a second in computer science and David Greiner earned a first in biology. Congratulations to these students and sponsor Jeff Seiler. Good luck at sectionals.
