Meet Mrs. Walker

I'm so glad you stopped by . . .

Hello. My name is Tanya Walker and I am pleased and excited about working with your child this year. I have been on the staff at Pawnee for 21 enjoyable, wonderful years.

I attended Illinois State University and earned a major in Special Education and Elementary Education. My first nine years of teaching was spent as a primary Special Education teacher; since then, I have taught first grade, second grade, and have been a looping teacher, which involves keeping the same group of children together for two consecutive years which I find promotes and creates a close-knit community environment. My passion is Character Education. I promise to love your children and treat them as my own.

I live in Rochester with my husband Steve and three children, Tyler, Chase, and Grace. I have two horses, three dogs, and two cats that reside on our small farm. I love spending time with family, boating, and camping!
